Childrens Books: Baby Boomer Magazines
Baby boomers are those people born between 1948 and 1964. They represent about one third of the American population yet they control about 75 percent of the wealth. Over the next 20 years, about 77 million boomers will move into senior citizen status.
Baby boomers are a unique generation and there are magazines designed especially for them. Boomers may not be able to rely on old age pensions as previous generations have done. Magazines can give good investment tips on how to grow your money while working towards retirement. Boomers also may find they are dealing with aging parents and children at the same time. Magazines created for this specific population can help boomers cope with the empty nest syndrome that results from children who are growing up.
Since baby boomers are often pretty healthy people, retirement doesnt mean they are simply sitting around and relaxing. Often boomers live another twenty or more years after quitting their jobs. Retirement, in many cases, gives people a chance to explore different areas of their lives. A certain percentage of the population becomes depressed when they retire because they have to give up work they enjoyed and the friends they had at work. Magazines can be a great resource tips on how to cope with retirement and how to find new activities. After all, a number of boomers are finally able to explore writing or art after they retire.
